Cliff Couch is the author of the Wallace Island Mystery series. Born and raised in the south, he embarked on a career in law enforcement after a stint in the US Marine Corps. He served in various detective roles in north Florida, as a police chief in several Kansas towns and, ultimately, as a chief of police in east Tennessee. 

 

Holding a bachelor’s degree in criminology and psychology, as well as a master’s degree in public administration from Florida State University, he enjoys writing about crooks, sleuths, politicians and all the quirky small-town characters in between. 

He’s currently a professor of criminal justice at Tennessee Wesleyan University in Athens, TN.
